The Academic Support Center frequently hires for the following part-time positions:
Paraprofessional Tutors: We offer tutoring for all Castleton courses. Paraprofessional tutors hold a four-year degree and are available to tutor college students individually or in small groups on an as needed basis – or to staff our writing and math clinics. To apply, contact: Trisha Graf (Humanities) or Deborah Jackson (Math and Science)
Peer Tutors: College students who have the recommendation of the faculty member with whom they took the course and earned an ‘A’ or ‘B’ are eligible to apply to tutor other students in that course. Peer tutors also staff our writing and math clinics. Work study eligibility is not needed for Peer Tutors. To apply, complete a tutor application and contact: Trisha Graf (Humanities) or Deborah Jackson (Math and Science)
Learning Center Assistants: Duties include greeting students who come to Academic Support for services, making appointments, answering the telephone, filing and other office work, and working closely with the full-time staff and tutors. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are needed. Work study eligibility is required for Learning Center Assistants. Contact: Anita Larson |
