First, let us say we are very pleased that you have indicated you wish to be part of the Teaching American History Program. In the application process, (ignore if you are already a member of the program) you will need a letter of support from your principal or superintendent. We do this because we think it is important that your principal and superintendent be aware of your high standards for professional development and your desire to bring those high standards to your students.

Secondly, if you are accepted, we would expect that you would complete the following in a timely manner. By doing so, you may receive 3 college credits, (if you request them), at a special rate through the Castleton Center for Schools.  Normally, your school district will be billed the special rate and your tuition will be paid by them but we have set aside scholarship money for special cases. In addition to books for your school or library, you will receive a stipend of $1500. You will be given $750 at the end of the Summer Seminar and $750 at the end of the academic year for completion of the criteria listed below.
