The Castleton Theatre Arts Department presented Still Life with Iris, November 7-10, 2002.

Director and theatre professor Lisa Kramer said, "It's a play written for young people that touches adults as well. Steven Dietz doesn't write down to kids."

Still Life with iris was the first play written for young audiences to receive the Kennedy Center's prestigious "Fund for New American Plays" Award. An adventure fantasy, Still Life with Iris follows the journey of a girl as she searches for her past, meets new friends including the young Mozart, and uncovers many mysteries.

Weekday performances for Rutland County elementary school classes brought more than 800 children to campus.
