Dates and Times: July 23-25, 2018. In-person meetings Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (July 23, 24 & 25) from 9 am to 2 pm. The remainder of the course will be held in an online / independent format with an August end date OR students have the option of extending the course through November should they want on-site coaching from instructor Dr. Bove

Course Description

Applied Behavioral Analysis is a "coached" course designed for educators to be implemented in – used at work sites. It focuses on the fundamentals and application of behavioral techniques.

Audience: Educators, Therapists, Counselors, and other professionals involved in working with children.

Course Goals & Objectives

Course Goals:

Applied Behavioral Interventions in order to affect student change at the educational setting.

Course Objectives: 

  1. This course is designed to provide the participant with skills in the areas of Behavioral Data Collection, Graphing of data, behavioral interventions and analysis of data.
  2. This course is designed to provide the participant with skills in Single Subject Design & Implementation following a detailed functional analysis protocol. 
  3. This course is designed to provide the participant with skills in arranging consequences that increase and/or decrease behavior, either educational or challenging.
  4. This course is designed to provide the participant with skills in the generalization of behavior change as well as skills in student self-management.

Other Suggested Readings/Texts: Readings will be assigned through ABA website.

  2. Design, implement and evaluate ABA principles for one student “of focus”.
  3. Review and summarize (10) selected journal articles in the area of ABA Social Behavior as a result of homelessness, poverty, etc.
