The English Language Institute at Castleton is a comprehensive language program designed to help international students increase their English fluency. The Summer English Language Institute is a 3-week program that has an equal focus on intensive English classes and cultural immersion activities through social interactions and educational excursions. The program is designed for students who would like to increase their English language proficiency and gain deeper understanding of U.S. culture while experiencing U.S. college life.
During the program, participants will attend 15 hours of classes each week from Monday to Friday in state-of-the-art facilities with the latest technologies. They will receive instruction from faculty who have years of experience living, studying and working abroad. Classes are taught using an integrated approach of the four domains of language learning reading, writing, listening and speaking with proven English language learning teaching methodologies.
The mornings will be dedicated to focused language instruction based on the students’ English level, while the afternoons will provide opportunities for educational and cultural outings. Major activities include a trip to New York City or Boston, visits to local farms and parks, exploration of historical landmarks and many other incredible activities for cultural immersion and language practice. In the evenings, students will engage in fun activities with Castleton students who will act as conversation and cultural mentors.
