Through the use of Portal (Web Services and Self Service), you have 24/7 access to your financial aid information and documents that are needed and/or received. We encourage you to check the Portal frequently for financial aid updates as the Portal relays information in real-time.
All students will receive an email notification from Student Aid indicating that your financial aid eligibility has been determined and that you should sign on to Castleton’s Portal to view your financial aid.
Your financial aid information on the portal indicates the types and amounts of financial aid that you are eligible for. If your email notification indicates that your financial aid is “Estimated,” then your FAFSA has been selected for verification and your aid will remain an estimate until verification is complete. Aid does not disburse to student accounts until it is no longer estimated.

You are not required to accept your financial aid, however, it is your responsibility to notify the Financial Aid Office if you wish to decline or revise (decrease) all or part of the aid offered. You may do this via the Portal/Web Services or by completing and returning a declination/revision form which can be downloaded off of the Important Forms Page.
Please read the Terms and Conditions for the appropriate academic year (found on the right side of the top of this page) and Rights and Responsibilities.
You will be sent an email notification to your Castleton email address advising you that there’s been a change in your financial aid, instructing you to go to the portal/Self Service to view the change(s).
You will be sent an email notification to your current email address in our database instructing you to log into the portal/Webservices. Once you have registered for classes, all financial aid email notifications will be sent to your Castleton email address. Please remember to activate your Castleton email once you’ve registered.
