#GIVINGTUESDAY is a global day of giving held annually on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving. The campaign aims to kick off the season of giving and transform the way we think about, talk about, and participate in the holiday season.
It is our goal to set a record for the highest number of gifts ever given to Castleton in a single day and call attention to the countless ways Castleton students, alumni, and friends give of themselves each day.
In honor of our founding year 1787, we are asking all participants to give $17.87.
For roughly the same amount you spend on your weekly morning coffee, you can have an impact on our students.
The Castleton Student Government Association will be organizing an effort to collect food items, winter clothing, and other donations for Castleton Cares, Fair Haven Concerned, and other area charities throughout the day, challenging the various on-campus clubs and organizations to see which can be the most philanthropic on campus. More information about these donations can be found here.
Finally, the Gift of Life Marathon will kick off its annual 12 Days of Giving at President Dave Wolk’s home. The blood drive will have the feel of a family party, block party and blood drive wrapped into one and just like last year, President Wolk will personally provide free rides to anyone who needs one, which can be arranged by calling (802) 468-1203. Sign-up by visiting bit.ly/golmCU16 and using zip code 05735.
Please join the effort and help showcase the giving spirit that runs so deeply at Castleton and you can proudly say #IGAVEGREEN!
