HOOD MUSEUM PIECE 1992
|
Artist Bill Ramage's mind-bending installations and drawings have appeared at Williams College, Dartmouth College, the University of Vermont, Ohio State, and in the Islip Museum, and in Ukraine. Ramage says about his work, "Since 1975 I have explored the dynamics of perception. I have paid special attention to the role of culture in perception ( Is seeing believing?), developments in Art History (What are the effects of linear perspective and cubism on our perception?) and the phenomenological experience ( What actually happens when we see?). I have grappled with perception chiefly in my site-specific drawings (installation) that ask many questions about how we codify our understanding of the visual space around us." |
