Castleton Picked Second in NAC Preseason Poll

(September 12, 2007) - Husson College has been chosen the preseason favorite to win the NAC men’s soccer title in a vote conducted by the league’s coaches. The Eagles received six first place votes and a total of 71 points in the NAC men’s soccer coaches’ poll. Husson returns nine starters, including first team allconference forward Nathan Carter, off their squad which went 12-4-3 overall, 7-2-1 in conference play earning the second seed in the conference tournament.

Castleton, Maine-Farmington and Elms each received a first place vote. Castleton returns 9 starters off of a 5-4-1 squad last including NAC First Team forward Ryan Hahn. UMF has numerous defensive stalwarts returning including junior goalkeeper Brian Lemont. Elms brings back 14 players including eight starters of a squad who advanced to the NAC championship game as the seventh seed a season ago.
