(September 12, 2007) - Husson College has been chosen the preseason favorite to win the NAC men’s soccer title in a vote conducted by the league’s coaches. The Eagles received six first place votes and a total of 71 points in the NAC men’s soccer coaches’ poll. Husson returns nine starters, including first team allconference forward Nathan Carter, off their squad which went 12-4-3 overall, 7-2-1 in conference play earning the second seed in the conference tournament.

Castleton, Maine-Farmington and Elms each received a first place vote. Castleton returns 9 starters off of a 5-4-1 squad last including NAC First Team forward Ryan Hahn. UMF has numerous defensive stalwarts returning including junior goalkeeper Brian Lemont. Elms brings back 14 players including eight starters of a squad who advanced to the NAC championship game as the seventh seed a season ago.

Note: Points in are awarded in descending order with first-place votes (in parentheses) earning 9 points through ninth-place votes which are worth one point. Records shown are 2006 conference and overall records with last season’s regular season conference finish. Lasell and Mount Ida no longer compete in the North Atlantic Conference.
