Castleton wins big over Vermont Tech., 14-2

Colchester, VT - The Castleton State College baseball team won for the fifth time in six games, defeating Vermont Technical College 14-2.

Rob Turner tossed five innings allowing two runs (one earned) one five hits, while striking out five to earn the win. Matt Tuthill pitched a pair of perfect innings, and Brandon Heck tossed the eighth inning, allowing just one hit to close the door.

Travis Bass stayed red-hot as he provided three hits, two RBI and two stolen bases. Kyle Brooks had 3 RBI and two hits, while Phil Puleo had 2 RBI and a triple.

Oliver Aldrich also added a pair of hits and two RBI as Castleton pounded 11 hits on the day.

With the win Castleton improves to 10-8 on the year. The game was called due to darkness with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth inning.

Castleton is back in action on Saturday, April 14 when they travel to Becker College for a North Alantic Conference dobuleheader. [Box Score]
