Castleton wins fourth straight, downs Wheelock 6-0
Boston, MA – The Castleton State College field hockey team won its fourth consecutive game, and seventh out of its last eight, defeating Wheelock College 6-0 in NAC action.
With the win Castleton improves to 7-2 overall, and are undefeated in conference play at 3-0.
The Spartans received six goals from six different players, and were led by Molly Fraher's and Trishia Fellows' one goal and one assist afternoons.
Carolyn Griggs scored what would prove to be the game winner 15 minutes into the contest on a Sarah Flore assist.
Kayla Blank, Marie Amaral and Tricia Watson would all score in the lopsided victory.
Trisha Clark and Siobhan Whittemore combined for the shut-out, with Whittemore being the only one to make a save.
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday, September 29 when they take on Elms College at 2:00 pm. The match falls on homecoming/alumni weekend. [Box Score]
