Personal Information:

A 1987 graduate of Ursinus College with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics, Alercio has spent the past 15 seasons as the offensive coordinator at The College of New Jersey. During his tenure, the Lions won five championships and made six post-season appearances. His offense set dozens of individual and team records in rushing, passing, and scoring.

Prior to The College of New Jersey, Alercio spent three seasons in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference -- two years at West Chester University and one year at East Stroudsburg University. While at each school, Alercio helped both win PSAC Championships and berths in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

At Castleton Alercio will be charged with starting the football program from the ground up, with the team’s first game slated for September 5, 2009 at The Spartan Stadium, home to Castleton Football.

Personal Information:

Klatt has spent the past 12 years coaching at the high school and collegiate levels, most recently as an assistant coach at St. Cloud State University, an NCAA Division II institution in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

While at St. Cloud State, Klatt was charged with coaching the inside and outside linebackers and was also the co-strength and conditioning coach, responsible for developing, implementing and supervising the year-round strength and conditioning program for the entire team. Klatt held the same responsibilities during the 2005-06 academic year at The College of New Jersey alongside Castleton’s head coach, Rich Alercio.

After graduating in 1992 from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Klatt spent four years in the United States Army. Upon the completion of his commitment as a commissioned officer in 1996, Klatt returned to Northern Iowa where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education-Teaching and Master of Arts in Physical Education (Coaching and Teaching) in 2001. During this period, Klatt began his coaching career at the high school level as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator.

He has teaching experience at the college and secondary levels in physical education, strength and conditioning, and exercise science. In addition to his impressive background as both a coach and educator, Klatt is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
