(February 13, 2008) - Castleton has been chosen as the baseball preseason favorite of the North Atlantic Conference in a vote conducted by the league’s coaches. The Spartans, who finished last season atop the NAC standings, received four first place votes and a total of 33 points in the NAC baseball preseason poll. Castleton will need to replace the loss of 7 starters and will rely on second-team allconference pitcher Jeremy Gilcris and a trio of seniors to lead a young team.

Husson College, which finished 7-5 in conference play and defeated Castleton twice in the tournament before falling to eventual champion St. Joseph’s (ME), returns five starters including junior outfielder Jeff Miller a second-team all-conference selection a season ago. The Eagles received two first place votes.
