NEIBA Announces All-New England Baseball Teams

(May 16, 2008) - The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Castleton BaseballAssociation announced its 2008 All-New England Division III Teams and Castleton's Brad Polcare and Dan Conley each earned a spot on the All-New England Third Team.

Polcare, a North Atlantic Conference All-Conference First Team selection, led the Spartans with a .410 batting average, 64 hits, three homeruns, 10 triples, 57 runs scored and 42 runs batted in. The senior second baseman also led the team in slugging percentage, on base percentage, total bases, walks and stolen bases. He was named the NAC Championship Most Valuable Player after going 10-for-13 in the championship round with two homeruns, one triple, two doubles, eight runs and eight RBI to lead the Spartans to their first-ever berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Conley was named NAC Rookie-of-the-Year, and was also an all-conference first team selection. In his first season Conley ranked second on the team in most offensive categories, batting .376 with 56 hits, 35 runs scored and 35 runs batted in.
