Castleton Picked Seventh in NAC Preseason Poll

(September 12, 2007) - The NAC women’s volleyball coaches have selected the University of Maine-Farmington as the favorite to win the conference championship. A new champion will be crowned as Mount Ida and Lasell, who between them had won all eight previous NAC championships, no longer compete in the Conference. The Beavers will be led by first year coach Sara Haney who inherits four starters including two NAC all-conference players; outside hitter Jenna Rowan and middle hitter Meagan Dube.

Husson with three first place votes and 65 points tied for second in the poll with Maine Maritime. The Eagles return 4 starters from a year ago when they finished 14-10, 5-5 in NAC. Husson is lead by NAC 1st team selection Allison Chepke. The Mariners, 8-2 a season ago in conference play, will be led by senior setter Becca Allen. Becker also received a first place vote.
