(October 15, 2007) - After finishing the 2006-07 season ranked #12 in the uscho.com division III poll, the Castleton men's ice hockey team finds itself on the outside looking in. The Spartans received 20 votes, placing them outside the top-15 for the first time since the January 15th poll.

Last season's national champion, SUNY-Oswego, is ranked #1, receiving all but one first-place vote.

The Spartans open their season on November 16th when they play host to New England College at 7:00 pm. The Pilgrims are currently tied for 15th in the poll.

Last season Castleton's season came to an end in the ECAC East final four at the hands of New England College by a score of 3-2.
