Castleton and Maine Maritime tie 1-1

Castine, ME – Castleton battled back from a 1-0 halftime deficit, tying the game in the second half, but the Spartans had to settle for the tie.

The Mariners opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Jess taylor scored. Tracy Stala (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) struck for her eighth goal of the season on a breakaway assisted by Carisa Chadburn (North Clarendon, Mill River Union) in the 56th minute.

Kim Allen (Newtown, CT/Newtown) stopped four shots as Castleton's record goes to 5-4-2 (4-1-1 NAC). Maine Maritime goes to 2-3-2 (1-1-1 NAC). Both teams are back in action on Sunday as the Mariners host Johnson State and the Spartans travel to Husson. [Box Score]
