Castleton slips up at home, loses to Bay Path 5-4

Castleton, VT-The Castleton State College women's tennis team lost for the first time in four matches, as the Bay Path College Wildcats rallied to win a closely contested NAC match 5-4.

The Spartans led all three doubles matches early, but could only manage to pull out a win in the #2 match as Charla Klaas and Emily Hallett won 8-4.

This would prove to be the difference as teh two teams split the six singles matches. Castleton's Jamie Olson won #2 singles 6-3, 6-0. Mary Kay Capone and Meg Kuczynski-Sherwin remain undefeated at the back of the Spartan rotation in 2007. Capone took home #5 singles 6-3, 6-0, while Kuczynski-Sherwin won #6 6-4, 6-2.

Castleton is back in action on Wednesday, October 3 when they play host to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in a 4:00 pm non-conference match. [Results]
