Castleton evens NAC record with 9-0 win at Johnson State

Johnson, VT-The Castleton State College women's tennis team improved to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play with a convincing 9-0 win at Johnson State.

Castleton lost just one set all day, en route to its second-consecutive win.

Charla Klaas took #1 singles 6-1, 6-3, Jamie Olson #2 singles 6-1, 6-3 and Kim Allen #3 singles 6-0, 6-1. Emily Hallett battled back from Castleton's only hiccup, a 6-7 loss in the opening set of #4 singles to win 6-2, 10-2. #5 singles went to Meg Kuczynski-Sherwin 6-1, 6-0 and Ashley Whitehouse ended the perfect day with a 6-3, 6-3 win in #6 singles.

Klaas and Olson took down #1 doubles 8-3, Allen and Hallett teamed for #2 doubles 8-1 while Kuczynski-Sherwin pairedup with Courtney Gosselin to win the #3 doubles event 8-4.

The Spartans face a tough non-conference test on Tuesday, September 25 when they host Plymouth State at 4:00 pm. [Results]
