Castleton downs Johnson State 8-1

Castleton, VT-The Castleton State College women’s tennis team continues to play solid tennis as they gear up for the North Atlantic Conference tournament next weekend. The Spartans defeated visiting Johnson State 8-1, with the Badgers' lone win coming due to a forfeit.

Charla Klaas, Jamie Olson and Kim Allen took home numbers one through three in singles competition before Emily Hallett was forced to withdraw from the #4 slot. Mary Kay Capone and Meg Kuczynski-Sherwin remain unbeaten in #5 and #6 singles respectively.

Olson and Allen teamed to win #1 doubles while Hallett and Klaas moved to 8-0 on the season by winning #2 doubles. In the #3 slot it was Capone and Kuczynski-Sherwin pulling out the win.

The team is on teh road for its final tune-up tomorrow afternoon at Lyndon State for a 1:00 pm non-conference match. [Results]
