Castleton wins 9-0 at Russell Sage

Schenectady, NY-The Castleton State College women's tennis team defeated Russell Sage 9-0 on the road to earn their first victory of the season. The Spartans did not lose a set the entire afternoon in the sweep.

Charla Klaas took hom the #1 singles 6-3, 7-6 and was followed by Jamie Olson (6-3, 6-0), Kim Allen (6-1, 6-2), Emily Hallett (6-1, 7-5), Meg Kuczynski-Sherwin (6-2, 6-0), and Mary Kay Capone (6-0, 6-0) with singles victories.

In doubles action Olson and Allen teamed for an 8-4 win in the #1 slot. Klaas and Hallett took home #2 8-2, and Capone and Courtney Gosselin won #3 8-3.

The Spartans take on Lyndon State on the road Sunday, September 9 at 1:00 pm. [Results]
