Castleton rolls on, downs Johnson State 9-0

Castleton, VT-The Castleton State College women's tennis team won for the third consecutive match, defeating North Atlantic Conference foe, Johnson State 9-0.

Castleton dominated from start to finish, losing just 11 games in singles competition and five in doubles action.

Michelle Podnecky (6-0, 6-2), Kate Bucci (6-1, 6-0), Emily Hallett (6-3, 6-1), Mary Kay Capone (6-2, 6-2), Brittni Racine (6-0, 6-0), and Morgan Reuter (6-0, 6-0) all won in straight sets to sweep singles.

In doubles action Podnecky and Bucci teamed for an 8-3 win in #1, Charla Klaas and Hallett won 8-2 in #2, and Emily Bisson and Reuter scored an 8-0 victory in #3.

Castleton improves to 3-0 on the season and will travel toMassachusetts College of Liberal Arts on September 11 for a 4:00 pm non-conference match. [Results]
