Castleton earns second-straight 9-0 win

North Adams, MA-The Castleton State College women's tennis team took its winning ways to the road, and had the same outcome, a 9-0 win over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. The Spartans have now won four-straight matches to open the season.

Michelle Podnecky (6-0, 6-1), Charla Klaas (6-1, 6-0) Kate Bucci (6-0, 6-1), Emily Hallett (6-4, 6-2), Mary Kay Capone (6-3, 6-3), and Brittni Racine (6-0, 6-0), all won in straight sets to sweep singles.

In doubles action Podnecky and Bucci teamed for an 8-3 win in #1, Charla Klaas and Hallett won 8-1 in #2, and Emily Bisson and Reuter scored an 8-0 victory in #3.

Castleton improves to 4-0 on the season and will play host to Lyndon State on Saturda, September 13 at 1:00 pm. [Results]
