Castleton remains undefeated with 7-2 win at Mass.-Liberal Arts

Rutland, VT-The Castleton State College women's tennis team remained undefeated on the season with a 7-2 non-conference win over Massachusetts College of Liber Arts.

Freshmen Michelle Podnecky and Kate Bucci remained perfect on the season, teaming up for a win at No. 1 doubles and taking the No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches, respectively. Podnecky and Bucci are both 8-0 on the season in both singles and doubles.

Sophomore Mary Kay Capone saw her unbeaten streak come to an end in singles action when she was forced to reture. Junior Charla Klaas was also forced to retire during singles competition after teaming with Emily Hallet for an 8-4 win.

Hallett won in #4 singles, while Brittni Racine took #6 singles. Racine teamed with Morgan Reuter to round out the doubles competition sweep.

The Spartans are back on the court Friday, October 3 when they travel to Lyndon State for a 4:00 pm North Atlantic Conference match. [Results]
