Castleton bows out of NAC Quarterfinal round

Poultney, VT – Fifth-seeded Castleton State College jumped out to a 25-23 first set win, but dropped three straight sets en route to a 3-1 win at third-seed Green Mountain College in North Atlantic Conference Quarterfinal action. Castleton lost the final three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-12.

Jamie Lemieux led the way with 13 kills, while Gina Nassivera added six kills and 14 assists for the Spartans. Heather Spain chipped in five kills while Hillary Greenfield added nine assists.

Castleton’s season ends at 7-14 overall, while Green Mountain improves to 16-4. The Eagles will travel to Husson University Saturday, November 8 for the NAC Final Four along with University of Maine-Farmington and Maine Maritime Academy. [Box Score]
