10 Things To Do in the Campus Center

1. Get Involved! The Student Association office is located in the Student Life office and is place to find out what positions are open in the SA, the place to get information on running for an office in the SA, and the place to get in contact with your senator or the SA executive board. The Student Life office is also where you can get information about different clubs on campus as well as how to start your own club.

Grab a Meal or a Snack! The Campus Center is home to the Fireside Café. The Fireside Café features meals you can buy with Declining Balance Dollars (DBDs) or cash open Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m., Friday from 7:00 am - 12:30 am, Saturday from 6:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. The Fireside Café offers sandwiches, salads, desserts, and more.  Food is pre-made to grab before getting to class as well as made to order sandwiches, burgers, pizza, etc.

Play a Game! The Game Room houses 2 pool tables and table tennis available to Castleton students and their guests. The Welcome Desk also has various board games they lend out to students.

Find a Job! Whether you are a first-year student or a senior ready to graduate the Career Development office can help you polish up your resume, provide you with job offerings, or even help you decide what you want to do with the rest of your life.

5. Show your spirit! Support your Castleton Spartans in your Castleton gear. The College store sells everything from Castleton gear for you to Castleton gear for babies. The Castleton store also offers a variety of school and art supplies, snacks, and just about anything you forgot from home. Most importantly the College Store offers extended hours in the beginning of each semester to buy textbooks.

Raise awareness! There is no better place on campus to raise awareness about an issue you are passionate about, your new or existing club, or an event coming up on campus. The Campus Center is the place to find out what is going on around campus.

 

7. Form a Study Group! The Campus Center is the perfect place to meet up with your classmates to study for that upcoming test. The Campus Center informal lounge has comfortable couches and chairs while the formal lounge has a conference table, chalk board, and chairs. Whatever your style of studying the Campus Center can help you and your classmates succeed.

Write Home! Every full-time matriculated student has a mailbox in the Campus Center mail room. You can buy stamps, mail letters, pick-up and mail packages, and send packages via UPS.

Are you Passing Soundings? The Soundings office is located in the Campus Center. The Soundings staff can tell you how many events you’ve been to, how many events are left, what events are coming up, and help you succeed in Soundings.

10. Relax and Warm up after a long day of Skiing! Relax, warm up next to the fire, watch TV, and grab some food while sharing stories after a hard day on the slopes. Commuters can relax in the Campus Center as well in a room especially reserved for them Commuter Central. Commuter Central offers a computer, mini-fridge for lunches, and microwave.
