How does one become an Emerging Leader?
To become a member of Emerging Leaders you will have to complete an application form and return it to Victoria Angis, Assistant Dean for Campus Life. If you have questions call 802-468-1231.

Why should I become an Emerging Leader?
Leaders today need solid grounding from which to lead. Strong ethical standards, an ethic of care and the will to lead are essential. Emerging Leaders will explore the art of leadership. Some of you will start to build a foundation of self-knowledge to help you identify what you might like to do during your time at Castleton and beyond. Others may be well on this path and re-examine current skills as well as future roles.

College can be a confusing and at times overwhelming. It is a time of great personal change. Everyday you learn new ideas, meet new people, and are faced with questions about your future. These ideas, these people, and these questions can be exciting, but they can also be overwhelming.

To help make sense of thw world we live in and your place in it, you need the right tools. As an Emerging leader you will explore essential leadership skills and develop a personal leadership "tool kit." Leadership gives you the opportunity to learn and practice those tools in a safe, fun, supportive environment.

You will be bale to immediately apply these skills in your everyday life as a student, an employee, or a campus leader. Each of you has the capacity to develop leadership skills that will help you make a positive impact on this college and in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
