Higley Homestead, 1811. Notice similarity to features of Adams-Shepard-Brown House, also built of brick and marble in 1811. Now the home of the Castleton Historical Society. The so-called Caswell carpet, embroidered by young Zeruah Higley Guernsey while she was growing up in the house, hangs in the American wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
