Harris-Ward House, 1815 to 1818. Another beautiful example of Dake’s work. See the handsome Palladian window on the second floor, the triple-arch theme of the entrance way, and the fine, tasteful decorations on the frieze. These details may well have been inspired by Asher Benjamin’s The Country Builder’s Assistant, published in 1797. Mr. Ransom’s so-called “outhouse,” by the way!
