Linda Olson
Assoc. Professor of Sociology
Race, Ethnicity, Class and Gender

 

Linda Olson holds a B.A. from Hamline University; and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire. She teachs theory, race, ethnicity, class, gender, sociology of education and women's studies. Currently the coordinator of both the sociology and women's studies programs, Professor Olson has taught at Castleton for 6 years . Areas of research interest lately have included sociology of education and feminist pedagogy and activism. She is advisor of the Womens' Issues Club and has received the Outstanding Faculty Award from the CSC Student Association.

SOC 2040 Race, Ethnicity, Class and Gender
An exploration of the historical and contempory roots for discrimination (especially of the institutional level) on the basis of race, ethnicity, class, and gender. This course examines issues such as culture, identity, and oppresion. Prerequisite: SOC 101
