Judy Meloy began her teaching career at Castleton in 1989, after experiencing life as a banker and a middle and high school German and English teacher in Ohio, a student development educator in Virginia, and program evaluator for the Connecticut State Department of Education. Meloy's major responsibility as a member of the Education Department at Castleton is teaching the assessment course. Meloy was also a part of the First Year Seminar (FYS) program until three years ago, when she transitioned into working with incoming transfer students. Although Meloy took early retirement in 2006 (...why not?!), she was fortunate to remain involved in the life of the university. Meloy loves thinking, learning, and working with both students, as they consider their potential and possibilities, and faculty colleagues who take their work to heart.
