The interlibrary loan service is limited to members of the Castleton community, including students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Other patrons are encouraged to place interlibrary loan requests through their local public library.
What May I Borrow Through Interlibrary Loan?
Books and journal articles are the most commonly borrowed items. DVDs and VHS tapes are also sometimes available. Policy prohibits the library from requesting course textbooks. Most libraries will not lend rare items.
For periodical articles not available in the Calvin Coolidge Library or through our subscription databases, use the Interlibrary Loan Article Request Form.
Check the Journal Holdings List to determine whether or not the library has a subscription to the journal, or has access to full-text in an online database. If you need help with this process, come to the library reference desk, or call (802) 468-1257 for help.
To place an interlibrary loan request for a book or audiovisual item found in the Calvin Coolidge Library Catalog, visit "Place Request" while you are looking at the "Details" for the item you would like.
Use "WorldCat" (on the menu bar within the library catalog) if the item you want doesn't appear in the Calvin Coolidge Library Catalog. Another library is likely to have the title you want. If you need help with this process, come to the library reference desk, or call (802) 468-1257 for help.
