Syllabus for statistic's ii
1. Statistics II is a continuation of MAT 2021 and includes statistical inference for large and small samples, linear regression and correlation, analysis of variance, analysis of count data, and nonparametric statistics.
2. Textbook: Introduction to Probability and Statistics by Mendenhall, Beaver, and Beaver (10th or 11th Edition)
OR A Brief Introduction to Probability and Statistics by Mendenhall, Beaver, and Beaver
The following handbook is recommended: Handbook of Formulas and Inferential Procedures for Elementary
Statistics by Pluta and Glasscock (2nd or 3rd Edition)
3. Course Outline:
a) Review of large sample estimation
b) Large sample significance testing
c) Small sample inference
d) Analysis of count data
e) Linear regression and correlation
f) Analysis of Variance
g) Nonparametric statistics
4. Grading Policy:
Five tests will be given during the course. Each test will be based on a maximum of 100 credits. Final grades will be determined by dividing the total number of accumulated credits by 500. Homework assignments will be made on a regular basis and are to be completed and brought to class for discussion and review. These assignments will not be collected and no credit will be given for their completion.
5. Attendance Policy:
Students are expected to attend every class meeting.
