Castleton University’s commitment to educating Vermont students, for the benefit of Vermont, recently took another step forward in the form of a guaranteed scholarship available to all Community College of Vermont graduates. The Transfer Success Scholarship is designed to always bring the cost of Castleton tuition in line with the tuition rate at CCV, providing strong incentive for CCV graduates to continue their education.
“We are committed to making education affordable for Vermonters and believe that students who pursue and achieve an associate’s degree at CCV should be rewarded for their efforts,” said Castleton President Dave Wolk. “We believe that affordable higher education is a key to the future success of our state. This scholarship, in addition to being the only public institution in the state to freeze tuition for the upcoming year, is a strong step in that direction.”
An articulation agreement between CCV and Castleton has granted admission to all CCV graduates for a number of years and the recent addition of the scholarship strengthens the partnership and forms a unique collaboration within the Vermont State Colleges system.
“Forty eight percent of CCV students continue their education beyond an associate’s degree, and we’re very excited that more graduates will be able to pursue an affordable four-year degree at Castleton with the Transfer Success Scholarship,” said CCV President Joyce Judy. “By transferring to Castleton, our students will continue to benefit from strong academic programs, as well as a supportive community that will help them thrive. While our students were already guaranteed admission to Castleton, this program provides them another option for reaching their educational goals within the Vermont State College system.”
The scholarship is renewable for students making satisfactory progress towards their bachelor’s degree. Find more information about the scholarship here.
