McAfee VirusScan AntiVirus Software FREE for Castleton State College Students & Employees
IT Services is pleased to offer McAfee VirusScan to all Castleton students free of charge. This license includes access to all virus definition updates. This software usually retails for $40. Protect your computer now!! To download, login to Blackboard, and look for the McAfee below VSC Web Services. Be sure to read and follow the instructions.

Virus Removal Tools
Stinger - by NAI - Free - Worm/Virus removal tool. Removes variants of more than 40 known worms. This tool is revised frequently to work for more worms. It's one small file that you download to your hard drive and double-click to run.

Spyware & Malware Detection & Removal Tools
These tools work like antivirus software in that you install them on your hard drive, and they have spyware/malware definitions that need to be updated regularly in order to work - updating takes only a minute. These are ALL FREE - gotta love that. IT Services uses these tools regularly.

Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition by Lavasoft - Free - Spyware and scumware removal utility. Works well with Spybot.
Spybot - Search and Destroy 1.3 by PepiMK Software - Free - Spyware and scumware removal utility. Works well with Ad-Aware.
CoolWeb Shredder (a.k.a. CWShredder) by Merijn.org - Free - Spyware and scumware removal utility. Removes some stuff that Spybot and Ad-Aware can't.
