Counseling Services
The Wellness Center provides individual, confidential counseling to students facing personal difficulties which may interfere with their ability to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Common student concerns are:
| time management |
eating disorders |
homesickness |
| family problems |
academic problems |
conflict situations |
| depression |
alcohol and drugs |
sexuality issues |
In addition to individual counseling we offer support groups and personal growth groups throughout the year. We encourage faculty, administration and staff to contact us when concerns about a student arise.
All information shared by staff about a student is confidential and can only come from the concerned party, we can not share student information at our access.
We also offer referral services for all Castleton employees, and we have a graduate intern who can see students and is available for outreach services.
To make an appointment with the counselor, Kim Ezzo, call 468-1314 or call Kate at the Wellness Center, 468-1346.

Crisis Intervention
Students in immediate need of assistance can receive "walk-in" emergency consultations during business hours. In the event that a crisis occurs after regular business hours, students should seek assistance from their Community Advisor (CA) or Area Coordinator (AC) who can connect them with Public Safety or the local Community Mental Health Agency at (802) 775-1000. In some cases, a follow-up plan can include an appointement at the Wellness Center on the next available business day.
Faculty and Staff Consultation
Faculty and staff are encouraged to seek consultation from the Director of Counseling Services when they have concerns about a student.
