Course Description

This course is designed to showcase Touch Chromebooks in the classroom as a newly emerging product. Of importance, we will explore how Android Apps installed on Touch Chromebooks can open the door to new functionality for young students, struggling student and our entire population of kids. Participants will receive a Touch Chromebook to explore along with instructions on how to access and install Android Apps. We are still in the early ages of Android Apps running on Chromebooks but the potential is staggering.

In addition to Exploration of Android Apps, we will use the Touch Chromebook to:

  • Differentiate instruction using Google Classroom, Docs, and other products
  • Learn about some little-discussed Google tools like Drawing and Keep.
  • Discover how the Explore function opens up research resources to students
  • Get a general overview of important products like Classroom, Docs, Forms, Sheets, and Slides
  • Recognize the importance of video and images for learning and as student learning evidence
  • Create a screencast and screenshots as evidence of your learning
  • Curate YouTube to streamline content

Participants will interact with a Learning Management System for activities, discussions and to submit evidence of learning. They will also create a presentation about what they learned about Android Apps and Touch Chromebooks.
