Computer Information Systems

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program seeks well-rounded individuals who demonstrate the desire to continually learn and adapt new technology in order to analyze and develop business-focused solutions.

Students in CIS will develop the knowledge and skills in analyzing and designing business applications, databases, and web development. Through combining business problems with information systems, the CIS program will prepare students for entry-level computer-related careers as well as graduate level studies in computing, information systems or technology disciplines. An education in CIS offers students a solid foundation to become a database developer, programmer, business analyst, project manager, web developer or IT technician.

The CIS program strives to prepare students for employment in the field of Information Systems through a hands-on active/service learning environment. Students will gain a broad-based business core, a solid foundation in critical thinking and analysis, the ability to design and create an information technology solution as well as strong communication and team skills.
