Soundings: An Introduction to the Liberal Arts is a signature program at Castleton University, an integral component of our General Education program. Soundings is a rich sampling of the liberal arts, broadly understood to encompass humanities, fine arts, social sciences, and natural sciences. Providing cultural and educational events, Soundings includes concerts, dance performances, films, lectures, workshops, and more. In a shrinking global world, Soundings provides opportunities for students to experience new people and ideas in ways that may push beyond comfort levels and/or broaden student horizons.
Soundings proposals are reviewed as they come in. To be guaranteed consideration for the Fall Semester, proposals must be submitted by March 31. For proposals to be guaranteed consideration for the Spring Semester, they must be submitted by October 31.
