Geography is an ideal subject with which to tie together other disciplines. Students choosing to minor in geography are required to complete and pass 18 credits in geography. This consists of six 3-credit courses covering a variety of regional and topical subjects, from North America to world regions, and from meteorology to cultural geography to geographic information systems.
The Geography minor, offered by the HGEP Department, is designed to introduce students to the description and analysis of the Earth. Because Geography utilizes tools and techniques found in the natural sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities, it is a "unifying" discipline that, as a minor, complements many majors offered at Castleton University.
Six GEO courses, at least two of which must be at the 3000 level or above.
