The mission of the Health Science Program at Castleton University is to provide a comprehensive and progressive academic experience that will prepare students for a wide range of career paths in health-related fields, such as athletic training, chiropractic medicine, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.

Students who select the Pre-AT concentration are preparing to apply to the 2- Year Master of Athletic Training program at Castleton. Specifically, the Health Science/Pre-AT degree is a 3-year accelerated program that prepares students to enter our 2-year CAATE accredited Master of Athletic Training (MAT) Program. Students must complete the Health Science core and the general education program in three years in order to take advantage of the 3+2 Bachelor of Science in Heath Science + Master of Athletic Training option. However, students may elect to complete the 4-year Health Science degree before applying to the MAT program (4+2). Enrollment in the MAT program is limited and admission is selective. Please take note of the specific admissions requirements on the MAT webpage.
Students who select the general health science path will be prepared for a wide range of career paths in health-related fields or graduate programs.
