Cuba Trip

In 2015 members of the University Chorale were one of the first US Choirs to perform in Cuba since US/Cuban relations improved. Students had the opportunity to collaborate with Cuban professional ensemble Coro Vocal Leo in rehearsal and concert, and to perform at the Hotel Habana Libre. We are planning to return in S17 to collaborate with our new Cuban friends again.

Special Events and Performances

The Music Department provides opportunities for students to collaborate with professional musicians and singers, enabling them to further develop their skills and to make connections with professionals in the field. Most recently Chamber Singers and the Wind Ensemble collaborated with the US Army Brass Quintet and Sargent Robert McDonald to perform a program of patriotic and Americana works at the Paramount Theater in Rutland. The performance, to an audience of 800, was part of Project 240 – celebrating American democracy. The US Army Brass Quintet also came to Castleton to give a Masterclass to students.
