Spanish Minor

Students who minor in Spanish will come to understand the Spanish language and culture.

You will develop a bilingual skill through speaking, reading, and writing Spanish both in and out of the classroom. With being exposed to the language and culture, you will gain a greater understanding of cultural differences,  the impact of Hispanic culture on the Spanish language, and the foundations of the language.

Benefits of a Spanish Minor

  • Develop language skills to an intermediate level.
  • Understand the history of Spanish as a language and how Hispanic culture has evolved.

Spanish Minor Requirements

These requirements are from an excerpt from the University Academic Catalog, which outlines the requirements for a student to earn the distinction of being a Castleton University graduate. The complete catalog is available online.

The Spanish Studies Minor is offered by the World Languages Department. Complete a minimum of 18 credits in Spanish courses at the 2000 level or above, of which at least three credits are in language skills courses at the 3000 level.
