SUMMARY:Castleton College: Artist Reception: Mark Burnett and Glenn Campbell
DESCRIPTION:The Castleton Bank Gallery in Rutland will feature the works of local artists Mark Burnett and Glenn Campbell running from June 16 through August 18, with an artist reception scheduled for Saturday, June 16 at 6 p.m.
Entitled &ldquoFireman2&rdquo the exhibit is a collection of sculptures that span the creativity output of both artists. Burnett mainly works in realistic figures and forms, while Campbell has a range from realistic to abstract and even surreal pieces. Both artists use a variety of materials from plaster, marble, wood, glass, bronze, and steel.
&ldquoA perceived mistake most always ends up fueling a new and deeper focus on detail, which ultimately makes a piece better by forcing me into a direction that I never would have thought on my own,&rdquo said artist Mark Burnett.
The Castleton Bank Gallery is located on the corner of Center Street and is open Thursday through Saturday with hours of operation from 12 p.m. &ndash 6 p.m.
For more information on the exhibit or the Christine Price Gallery please contact Oliver Schemm at oliver.schemm@castleton.edu.
ABOUT MARK BURNETT AND GLEN CAMPBELL
Mark Burnett lives and works as a full-time firefighter and teaches part-time as a sculpting instructor at Gardner Community College.
Artist Glenn Campbell owns and runs Campbell Plaster and Iron Foundry in West Rutland where he casts everything from monumental bronzes to the smallest of pieces while creating his own fascinating work.
