Castleton University uses Parchment Exchange to process transcript requests for electronic or paper delivery. This is a completely secure "green initiative" that provides the fastest delivery time and the ability to track your transcript delivery and receipt 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Official eTranscripts can be delivered to any valid email address via secure certified PDF. The recipient is notified by email to download the transcript from a secure website.
You have the option of attaching files to the transcript order; you will need to upload electronic copies of any documents that need to be included with your order.
Paper transcripts may be also ordered online through Parchment Exchange to be mailed to your destination or held for pick-up in the Registrar’s Office.
To ensure prompt delivery or electronic transcripts, make sure the recipient knows that you are sending an electronic transcript and that the electronic version will be acceptable, and ask them to list email@example.com as a safe sender to prevent their email system from blocking the email.
Ordering an Official Transcript
- Log in to the transcript ordering storefront.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to create an account and place your order.
Official paper copies of transcripts may also be ordered online for delivery by USPS first class mail or express shipping as well as pick-up in the Financial & Registration Services Center. Please bring a picture ID if picking up your transcript for identification purposes. You can pay for your transcript via credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). The most current security available is used to protect your credit card and personal information.
If you need to request a transcript from another Vermont State College System institution, you will need to contact that school to order your transcript. Beginning with the Summer 2002 term, courses taken and grades earned at any of the Vermont State College System institutions appear on the transcripts of all VSCS institutions.
You can check the status of your transcript request at any time by visiting Castleton's storefront, logging into your account, and selecting ‘Order Status’. You will also receive email notifications of your order status.

Castleton processes transcript requests Monday - Friday. When possible, requests should be made in advance of the date when the transcript is needed, please allow for additional time during peak periods. If you were enrolled prior to the summer of 2002, your request may take a bit longer to process as these records may not be stored in digital format. Transcripts will normally be sent from Castleton the day after a request is received, provided the student has no restrictions to prevent this, such as a student who has a "hold" on his/her account for any reason (e.g., unpaid fees or non-returned library materials). Please note that charges incurred for a transcript request are non-refundable if a transcript cannot be processed due to a financial hold.
