Castleton University and Landmark College, a private institution located in Putney, Vt., have formed a collaborative agreement creating a pathway for degree completion. The agreement makes the transition for graduates of Landmark College to Castleton seamless and affordable.
“As we seek to be innovative and collaborative in our growth, agreements like these are essential,” said Castleton President, Dr. Karen M. Scolforo. “Our admissions team works tirelessly to cultivate these partnerships that provide pathways to students who might not have continued on in their educational pursuits, previously. We are committed to ensuring a Castleton University education remains accessible, affordable, and meaningful as we prepare our students for the global workplace of tomorrow.”
The agreement guarantees admission to all Landmark College students who graduate with an associate’s degree and who have achieved a 3.0 grade point average. In addition to guaranteed admission, qualifying students will receive the Castleton Maple Award, which reduces out-of-state tuition to Vermont resident tuition pricing. This scholarship is designed to recognize the commitment that graduates have already made and make the pathway to a bachelor’s degree more accessible.
Landmark College is a fully accredited, not-for-profit institution exclusively for students who learn differently, including students with a learning disability, ADHD, or autism spectrum disorder. The college offers two and four-year programs in the liberal arts and sciences. In addition, the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training conducts groundbreaking research on learning disabilities, and shares that knowledge with educators around the world through webinars, workshops, professional training, and online courses.
Castleton will begin this program immediately and has already begun accepting applications as Landmark College students prepare to further their education after graduating in May. This agreement, along with other recent articulation agreements and partnerships will continue to greatly enrich the undergraduate experience at Castleton and aid in the growth of Vermont’s economy and professional workforce.
