Castleton Assistant Professor of Exercise and Sport Science Dr. Andrea Corcoran has been awarded $34,563 in start-up funds from Vermont Biomedical Research Network.
The funds will support Corcoran’s research on the role of Cannabidiol (CBD) on breathing and autonomic responses in humans, as well as how these might be altered by varying levels of exercise. This is a one-year award that began on May 1. It is funded through a sub-award to VBRN from the National Institutes of Health.
Corcoran’s research will provide opportunities for undergraduate students to work alongside her in the lab.
Corcoran served as an assistant professor of biology at Southern Vermont College before coming to Castleton last fall.
