Honoring students who served their county, a ceremony was held on Thursday, May 2 to induct 10 students into the Castleton chapter of the SALUTE Veterans Honor Society. They join the 25 other men and women who have been inducted into Castleton's SALUTE chapter since its creation in 2015.
Established in 2009 at Colorado State University, SALUTE is the only national honor society highlighting the achievements of student veterans. SALUTE membership recognizes their commitment to academic excellence, high principles and superior achievements throughout their lifetimes, and is dedicated to service, academics, leadership, unity, tribute and excellence.
The 2019 inductees include nine undergraduate and one graduate student who collectively have served more than 75 years in the United States Armed Services. They have an average GPA of 3.69 and represent seven different academic disciplines, including Philosophy, Health Science, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Education, Computer Information Systems, and Nursing.
