Twiddle is coming home.
The band is performing on back-to-back nights on March 28 and 29 at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland, Vermont to create and fund a recurring scholarship at Castleton University through the White Light Foundation, the band's partner nonprofit organization. Twiddle and the White Light Foundation hope to raise $20,000 for the scholarship over the two nights.
The White Light Foundation was built on a common love for music and was founded in 2015 on the principles of community, generosity, and passion. The foundation has donated $11,000 to various opioid crisis organizations nominated by Twiddle fans and gave $11,000 to the University of Vermont Children's Hospital NICU this year.
Twiddle lead guitarist and vocalist Mihali Savoulidis and keyboardist Ryan Dempsey first connected at Castleton's freshman orientation more than a decade ago. The White Light Scholarship is the band's way of giving back and will reward Castleton University students with proven leadership and volunteer experience who make meaningful contributions to the community and foster music education. The scholarship will also help financially challenged students to complete their degrees.
"Giving back to Castleton fourteen years after starting as a freshman, in the name of Twiddle and the White Light Foundation, is a full circle moment. I can't express how cool that is," Dempsey said.
Twiddle will perform two extended sets each night in a rare indoor performance — a stark contrast to their Tumble Down festival, held on the Burlington waterfront each year. The group will play an intimate acoustic set for VIP ticket holders.
Tickets are available for $38 per night (general admission) or $150 for both nights (VIP admission). VIP tickets include preferred seating in the loge section, an event poster, and a Friday pre-show event featuring a Q&A with the band and acoustic performance. A limited number of two-night general admission tickets are also available.
The event is presented by GoodWorks Entertainment, a live entertainment company whose mission is to influence citizens about the value of community, charity, and shared experiences.
