The Castleton community is full of life-long learners. We are regularly trying to advance our passions and work through pushing ourselves in our efforts, “Beyond the Classroom.”
Is there a book, article, TV series, movie, podcast, or other media that taught you something about yourself or others? That made you think and was thought-provoking? That was consciousness-raising? That created internal discomfort and prompted personal growth? That expanded your view of social justice – racism, sexism, poverty, gender, or homophobia – to name a few?
We want to hear about them and share them with other members of our community through our "Beyond the Classroom" initiative!
These will be featured on Castleton's social media and our website and will feature a photo of you and 1-2 sentences about why you recommend this piece of media (no spoilers!).
We will attempt to prioritize February's picks to coincide with Black History Month and March's picks to coincide with Women's History Month.
Note: Our hope is to be able to share all submissions that come in. We reserve the right to withhold publishing a recommendation. We will not publish works that promote/encourage violence, hate, or intolerance.
